I had the privilege to photograph  Halina and Trevor’s wedding at  The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel in Southwell on a warm July day. It was a relaxed and intimate setting for the couple’s big day in Southwell.

The couple had first me 4 years previously in Nottingham, and it wasn’t long before the pair were inseparable, “when you know, you know” says Halina.

Trevor had planned to pop the question while the couple were away for Halina’s birthday, but unfortunately due to heavy snow, East Midlands Airport was shut so the couple couldn’t fly. “He’d gone to such lengths to keep the trip a surprise and didn’t tell me until the night before. Needless to say that we re-booked and flew to Paris a few weeks later,” says Halina. “Trevor got down on one knee in the gardens overlooking the Eiffel Tower at night, and shortly after I said ‘yes’, the Tower glittered. It was very romantic and special.”

Halina wore a headband that her bridesmaid had worn on her wedding as her ‘something borrowed’.

Their wedding ceremony took place at St Giles Church in West Bridgford. This was their local church and they thought the stained glass windows behind the altar would make the perfect backdrop.

They travelled to Chania, Northern Crete for their honeymoon, as they wanted somewhere hot, scenic but not too far away. “It was amazing!” says Halina.

Here are a few images from their brilliantly laid back day…
